Here at Bell Ringer Athletics, we are passionate about overcoming adversity with the right mindset. This year, we are no stranger to adversities. It can be challenging to stay motivated amidst the chaos, let alone working out regularly. However, we believe there are some effective ways to stay motivated during a pandemic and whatever else life throws at you. You got this, fit babes and bosses!

1. Set Realistic Goals

When trying to stay motivated, it’s helpful to set realistic goals for you. If you work or go to school full-time, homeschool your kids, or own a business, you may not have time to be at the gym 7 days a week. That’s ok! It’s better to set small goals that work for your lifestyle and schedule, rather than setting unrealistic goals that will lead to failure. Goals are not always about achieving something, but rather working towards something important to you.

2. Have Fun

When life is stressful, it can be hard to find the willpower to hit the gym or home workouts. However, exercising has been proven to make us feel healthier and happier. How awesome is that! Part of the fun of exercising is finding out what exercise routines you enjoy. A lot of people like listening to motivational music to tackle their workouts. Others like to workout with a friend, while some prefer the peace and quite of a nighttime workout. Once you find ways to enjoy working out, you will be motivated in no time.

3. Workout Gear

Aside from setting goals and having fun, it can be nice to put on a new pair of workout clothes that you feel good in. Luckily, we have an awesome line of American-made workout clothes, including everything from bold muscle tanks to super soft hoodies. Sometimes all it takes is putting on that new workout gear to get you pumped for some epic workouts.

4. Reward Yourself

This can apply to anything in life, but it can help to reward yourself for meeting your goals. Take a day or two of rest for some special time doing something you love. Watch a movie you’ve been wanting to see, read a book, go on a date, or video chat with your best friend. Find something to look forward to and it will make a world of difference for staying motivated. We are all humans and sometimes need some extra incentive to hit the gym.

5. Self Care

This ties in with the reward yourself tip, but don’t overlook self-care. It can be easy to get burnt out trying to tackle everything, especially during a pandemic! However, it is one of the most important things you can do for not only yourself, but those you love and care for. Remember to get enough sleep, eat and drink healthy when you can, and find ways to unwind. Life is stressful, so it can be nice to find ways to let go of the racing thoughts and focus on the present. Living in the moment helps us to focus on what is important and let go of what is not. When you take care of your mental and physical well-being, it is much easier to stay motivated for those workouts.

I hope this post offered you some helpful advice and reminded you that we are in this together. Bell Ringer Athletics is passionate about working out and staying focused on finishing goals. We hope that our exercise videos will help inspire and motivate you to continue working towards your goals. You got this!!
